Pac-Man Fever 2010 - Pac-Man Championship Edition (Xbox 360)

History of Video Game Characters: Pac-Man

Black Eyed Peas Experience - "Boom Boom Pow" - Routine - Xbox Kinect

This is an idea of what the games were like when we went on the xbox kinect. The dancing shows how when you move, so does the characters in the games.

I enjoyed watching other members of the class using the game to show how stop motion worked. I didnt go on the game because i was shy plus the others seemed very willing to let other people watch them on the game.

I liked how the xbox kinect would respond to there movements and if they were not following properly , the xbox would say if they weren't following.

Motion Capture in games

Last thursday we went into the studio and played on the xbox kinect and the xbox. We saw how motion capture was used. We watched others play and move around and how the game worked using motion capture to control the game

These are pictures of the xbox kinect and one of the consoles we used to play fifa.

pacman

The pac man images we did in the studio on tuesday

Bulb Mode How-To

This video shows people how to set there camera on to bulb mode/ setting so they can take similar pictures as to the ones we did in the studio on tuesday

light photos

On tuesday, we went into the studio and setting the canon 5d on bulb setting and putting it on a tripod, a few people stood in front of it , in complete darkness. The person taking the image would stand and hold the button, a red light turning on , for a certain period of time.

While they were doing this, the people in front of the camera would begin to draw shapes in the air with the torches that were covered with coloured paper or plastic. When the button on the camera was released, colourful shapes would appear on the camera.

This would create a light image.

I enjoyed this lesson and i would like to do  it again and it was something that i didn't know could be done before. I would like to do it at home during the late evening when it would be dark and create colourful images using different lights of colour.

Stopmotion Skittles Commercial

This is an example of what stop motion is from youtube. We did something similar to this in class, taking individual photos of things then moving them the slightest bit then taking another picture. Eventually , we could make the images into a small video, the objects looking like they are moving n there own.

I rather like doing this but it does take patience and concentration. Also a lot of time as i found out during lesson. The amount of pictures you would have to take to make at least 5 minutes worth of video means lots and lots of photos.

But its fun to do and the video you get at the end when its all done is very worth it.

ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed

Outside we.....

In one lesson, half of the group went outside and used Bowens gemini lighting to take pictures of all of us against a wall. The aim of it was to create good pictures in low light.

in the studio

In the studio, we always use a Cambo stand when taking photographs. Or if were outside we would use a Cambo tripod.

How to make a green screen - Free !!!

In the studio we used a big flat box that we covered with a green screen and put a figure on top. Using the canon 5d, we took snap shots of the figure, for each photo, the figure was moved.

A green light was reflected on to the figure so when we edited it on the computer to make it into a movie, we could take out the green and add an image behind it.

we brought our own figure in and edited our own toy by going outside and moving the toy a little for every photo we took. I wouldn't mind trying to do this at home but outside instead of using a green screen so i can make my own little animation.

A day with Kate

With Kate, we made blood that you can eat and scars and wounds made out of gelatine. We decorated the gelatine with face paint to make it look sore and bloody  by adding a little of the blood that we made.

she showed us how to make larger wounds on the face and even fire burns. I made a scar on my wrist, adding the paint to make it look more realistic.

Wednesday, 9 November 2011

In lesson yesterday, half of the class spent half of the say in the studio, taking pictures of each other in different light and we would have to change things to make sure we got a good image. The image above is one example of the photos we took in the lesson.
We used a canon 5D and lighting. We reflected a light onto the persons face and earned how aperture , ISO and shutter speed worked. These would help us to get good quality pictures, even in dim light. It wasn't too hard but it wasn't easy to understand some of the things. over all i enjoyed the lesson.

This is an animation figure we used in the studio today and i will need to bring in something like this for lesson next week to make a small animation.

I enjoyed this lesson , being able to see a small animation starting to build up. We would edit the images in class to give the photos a background.

ideas

i need to bring in a figure that i can use to move so i can make a moving animation using the Canon 5d

today we...

Today we went into the studio and created a moving image , used a Canon 5d camera, Bowens studio lighting, green screen lighting

animation

We took photos and with every picture , we slightly moved the pictures so when the picture move fast, it looks like they are moving.
